The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a Moroccan refereeing team to officiate the crucial second-leg African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier between Nigeria and Ghana on Saturday, December 28.
International referee Hamza El Fariq will lead the officiating team, supported by assistant referees Abdessamad Abertoune and Zakaria Bouchtaoui, with Hicham Temsamani serving as the fourth official.
Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone will act as the match commissioner, while Miboti Moise from the Democratic Republic of Congo has been named the referee assessor.
The first leg of this tie, held in Accra, ended in a tense goalless draw, setting up a dramatic second leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT (4:00 PM local time).
This encounter not only reignites the historic rivalry between two West African giants but also offers a golden opportunity for home-based players to showcase their talent on a continental stage.
The winner will secure a spot at the 2024 CHAN tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda from February 1-28, 2025.
