Motorbike rider killed, teen passenger battles for life after tractor crash in Atwima Mponua

A fatal road accident at Antwi Adjei Nkwanta in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region has claimed the life of a young motorbike rider, while his teenage passenger is fighting for survival.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Rafiq Mohammed. His pillion rider, 17-year-old Cosmos Boateng, is currently in critical condition and receiving emergency care.
According to eyewitness accounts, the crash occurred when a tractor being driven by 26-year-old Shariff Abdul Rahman attempted to make a turn into the Desert Filling Station at Manukrom to refuel.
In the process, the tractor reportedly crossed the path of the motorbike, which was approaching from the direction of Kuffour’s Camp, resulting in a violent head-on collision.
All three individuals involved in the accident suffered severe injuries and were rushed to medical facilities in Bibiani for treatment.
Rafiq Mohammed was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital. Cosmos Boateng remains in a critical state at the Bibiani Municipal Hospital, while the tractor driver is currently receiving treatment at DAKS Hospital.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Bibiani morgue as police begin investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
