Former Eastern Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bismark Tawiah Boateng has said that his defeat in the just ended regional elections couldn’t have been possible if it were not the will of God.
According to him, although several others masterminded his defeat due to their dislike for him, the Almighty God could have still kept him in office if it was his will.
“I count it as the will of God, this is not the first time I’m contesting for this position, because am a disciplined person a lot of them do not like my guts” he told Kweku Owusu Adjei on Anopa Kasapa.
Recounting his defeat, he said things could have gone his way if he had support from some personalities in the party whom he counted on, but majority wanted him out of the chairmanship position because he was not in support of certain actions of theirs.
He expressed concerns that, the seeming undercuts in the party could breed some discomfort as done to him and caution that it be stopped.
“We can’t continue with such attitudes, we need to hold each other, support one another and not to be seen supporting some and others been left alone, otherwise things won’t go well for our party” he said.
Tawiah Boateng was defeated in his attempt to seek another term as the Eastern Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
John Owusu Amankrah popularly known as Jowak a businessman won with 379 votes as against 281 votes secured by Tawiah Boateng to revenge a painful defeated he suffered in the hands Tawiah Boateng in 2014 .
