Black Stars striker Jordan Ayew has  enjoyed a stellar performance in the group stages of the ongoing African Cup of nations in Egypt.

Jordan who has bagged 2 goals so far in the tournament often bears the brunt of most Ghanaians when things turn sour for the team.

The Swansea player who last season played on loan at Crystal Palace managed a solitary goal in 20 Premier league games but has managed a dramatic upturn in form and fortunes in front of goal at the AFCON.

This the Marseilles born forward attributes to his handwork on the pitch.

In an interview with the Ghanaian press before meeting Tunisia in the round of 16 clash on Monday, the skillful attacker posited that he has always been putting in the hard shift but we are now seeing the results.

"Just like I said hard work pays off so I work hard and now its paying off so for me the most important thing is the team and I have to congratulate my team mates If it wasn't because of them I wouldn't be getting the good balls I wouldn't be able to express myself on the pitch. So I have to thank them as well and I think we are going and every match we are doing well so I think it is positive.Well am not surprised and I have confidence in myself and I know that I just need to keep on working hard and I keep working hard and people are now seeing it something that I know am capable of doing so is not anything that is a surprise to me maybe its a surprise to a lot of people" he said

Ghana faces the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on Monday hoping to book a place in the quarter finals of the nations cup

and Jordan will be hoping to propel the team with his goals.

The four time winners have been in at least the semi finals of the last 4 Afcon tournaments.
