Member of Parliament for Tamale South and Minority Leader of Parliament Haruna Iddrisu has stated that, the violent action taken against some owners of Tipper truck owners by the Operation vanguard is a violation of their right to own properties.

The former Minister for Employment and Labour relations has described the issue as a "sacrilege" when he visited the Kumbungu constituency with some of the members of the Minority side in Parliament.

Among the members of the Minority Caucus who visited the site where the destruction of the vehicles were made included the Northern Caucus in Parliament Inusah Fuseini, MP for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak; Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini; and the MP for Binduri, Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem together with some executives of the NDC in the Northern Region.

One excavator and four motorbikes were burnt alongside the fourteen tipper trucks on March 3 in Nawuni, which is a suburb of Dalung in the Kumbungu district by the Operation Vanguard military.

The trucks belonged to some sand winners who operate along the Dalung  river, a tributary of the White Volta Lake.

The river passes through the operational site of the Ghana Water Company Limited in the Northern Region.

The Minority Caucus has however stated that, they will challenge the actions of the Operation Vanguard over the burning of the trucks.
