The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has carried out more than 11 intelligence-driven operations across the country between March and December 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to combat illicit drug activities.

PNCO Francis Opoku Amoah, Acting Director of Public Affairs and International Relations at NACOC, disclosed this during an interview on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on Friday, December 19.

He emphasised that the operations were the result of months and in some cases years, of investigations and surveillance, stressing that NACOC’s enforcement actions are carefully planned rather than spontaneous to ensure efficiency and measurable results.

According to him suspects are often monitored over long periods before any swoop is carried out to avoid wasting limited state resources.
“From March till now, we have conducted more than 11 swoops, which, in our line of work, is a good number because investigations take time. For us to have achieved this means we are doing well.

Mr. Opoku Amoah added that the swoops were executed in multiple locations nationwide, including Fadama in Accra, Effiakuma in the Western Region, Atinkpoko, and parts of the Ashanti Region. “It all depends on where the intelligence comes from and the type of intelligence we receive,” he noted.

He described the achievements as a positive indicator of NACOC’s effectiveness in targeting drug-related crimes and strengthening national security.
