President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has been left disappointed with the demise of the Black Stars from the African Cup of Nations.

The senior national team last night lost to Tunisia for the first time in the history of the tournament 5-4 on penalties.

Nana Addo took to his twitter handle to express his frustration with the Black Stars exit.

"Like most Ghanaians, I am gutted by the exit of the Black Star at the Afcon2019.I wish the team better luck next time. I am confident they will bounce back even stronger, and make all of us proud once again" he added.

Yassine Khenissi opened the scores for the Carthage Eagles midway through the second half before a fortuitous Rami Bedoui own goal levelled the game to send it to extra time and the lottery of penalty kicks.

The defeat means Ghana endured their worst African Cup of Nations run since the last four Afcon editions.

With the Stars finishing in at least the Semi finals in each of the last four editions before last night.
