Reports circulating over the weekend alleged that following the conviction of self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, her younger brother had taken over her residence and forcibly ejected her husband, Angel Asiamah, from the premises — including locking up the television station she managed.

However, in a series of videos posted to social media, the brother, known by the nickname “1 Gig,” has firmly denied these claims.

“I haven’t even been to the house since my sister was jailed,” he stated, describing the reports as completely false and misleading. “I have no interest in causing confusion. What matters now is how we support my sister legally and emotionally.”

“1 Gig” acknowledged Angel Asiamah as his brother-in-law and emphasized that he had every legal and moral right to manage affairs in his wife’s absence. He stressed that now is not the time for internal conflict, but rather for solidarity and legal focus as the family seeks avenues to appeal Agradaa’s 15-year prison sentence.

Agradaa and her brother have had past tensions, which led to him leaving her church, Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, based in Weija, Accra.

But despite their differences, he maintained that he was a law-abiding citizen who respects family structures and would not interfere unlawfully.

Meanwhile, on the Sunday following Agradaa’s conviction, Angel Asiamah was seen leading church service, a move some interpreted as a show of commitment, while others speculated about the authenticity of their marriage — questioning whether it was simply one of convenience.

Agradaa was convicted by an Accra Circuit Court on multiple counts of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence after she misled members of her church into giving large sums of money under the guise of receiving spiritual and financial blessings. She was handed a 15-year sentence with hard labour.

As legal teams weigh a possible appeal, the drama surrounding her family appears to be intensifying — but for now, her brother insists peace, not conflict, should prevail.
