Popular Ghanaian actress and TV presenter Nana Ama McBrown has revealed that she is officially divorced from her husband of twelve years, Maxwell Mensah.

Speaking on TV3’s New Day on Wednesday, McBrown described the separation as amicable and mutually agreed upon.

“I’m the happiest right now. Yes, I am divorced, and I am not ashamed to say it. We handled it beautifully. My husband and I are cool—we talk, we meet, I still visit my in-laws. I am a happy woman,” she said.
“I’m the happiest right now. I have done through divorce. Yes, I am divorced. I am, and I am not ashamed to say but I did so beautifully. Me and my husband are cool. We spoke yesterday, we speak today, we speak tomorrow, we meet, I go to our house [to see] my in laws and everything."

Look, I am a happy woman. We are the best of friends. We didn’t go through it like the bitter ones. I was tired, he was tired. We sat down, we said let’s talk about it. Let’s move on,” she said.

The actress revealed that their union was contracted under customary law, meaning the separation required only the involvement of both families. She expressed that her greatest joy from the marriage is their daughter, Maxine, whom she described as a precious gift.
“He is a correct guy. I still feel him but I got tired of the marriage. I will not marry again. I can give birth, but I won’t marry again. I have married for 12 years. When you see celebrities that has married for 12 years, applaud them,” she added.

The couple, who tied the knot 12 years ago, had faced persistent rumours of marital difficulties, with reports suggesting alleged extramarital issues on the part of Maxwell Mensah may have contributed to the split.
