The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has announced preparations for the one-week observation of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, which is set to take place on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
This follows the official confirmation of her passing on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The solemn event will be held at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, with mourners from across Ghana and beyond expected to attend to pay their respects to the Asante monarch, who served the Ashanti Kingdom with distinction for eight years.
Palace officials have confirmed that the ceremony will adhere to traditional Asante customs, with chiefs, queen mothers, government officials, and members of the public attending in mourning attire.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III was celebrated for her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering dedication to preserving Ashanti heritage. Her passing has been described as a profound loss to the Kingdom and the entire nation.
