The people of La are relieved about the biggest health infrastructure drive by the Government dubbed "Agenda 111", expressing hopes the Government will be completed it in time.

The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after cutting the sod for the ambitious project has given an assurance to some natives of La that their demolished La General Hospital will be reconstructed in some few months to come.

His adminstration is spending about 16 million dollars on each hospital, which includes all medical equipment.

The La General Hospital was closed down in February for redevelopment of the facility that had served the community for years.

According to Government the closure was necessary due to the dilapidated nature of the facilities which made it unsafe for both staff and patients.

But the President on 10th August cut the sod for commencement of construction of the La General Hospital Redevelopment Project.

This project is to create jobs for over 20,1000 jobs to health professionals in the country and also reduce pressure on some hospitals near to some of the demolished hospitals and yet to be built hospitals in the new regions of the country.

It therefore comes as an answer to the grievances of the people.

After Tuesday's sod-cutting event in the Ashanti region some natives la expressed excitement about the project since the La general hospital will be reconstructed and also reduce pressure on it's neighbouring hospitals like the Police Hospital in Osu and the LEKMA hospital in Teshie.

In an interview with Benjamin Kojo Annang a member of the La traditional council, he expressed optimism that the community will soon have it's health challenges solved.

He said he hopes the President builds in the time given before the end of his tenure as promised.

Ayitey Armah another native of La expressed his grievances about the demolished hospital,  questioning why the only hospital for the inhabitants of could be demolished without an immediate reconstruction plan.

He reiterated that he expects the government to complete building the hospital in the said months given by the government.

Mary Yemofio,a hawker said she knows the government is of it's word and will finish building the hospital as said.

She lamented that the government has brought up some developmental projects that is for the well being of Ghanaians.

The project is to enhance Ghana's GDP growth and also provide indirect jobs for those who will aid in building the hospitals.
