The much anticipated rematch between Ghana’s Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe and Mexican champion, Emanuel Navarrete has been confirmed to take place at the Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona.
Dogboe (20-1, 14 KOs) is looking forward to avenging his painful loss to Navarrete (26-1, 22 KOs) in their last December bout in New York which saw the Ghanaian lost his WBO World super bantamweight title to the Mexican.

The Navarrete-Dogboe II is reported to be a co-feature of another rematch involving Miguel Berchelt and Francisco Vargas for the WBC World super featherweight title after the latter lost his belt in 2017.

However, the 24-year-old Dogboe will be hoping to make amends by reclaiming his tittle having already begun training in Keta, Volta Region in preparation for his career defining bout.

Having stopped Jessie Magdaleno in the 11th round to snatch the WBO strap last April, Dogboe made his first defence in great fashion by thrashing Japan’s Hidenori Otake on August 8 in one round. He surprisingly lost to Navarrete in his second title defence.

Dogboe will be hoping to begin the year on a good note by beating Navarrete to add up to Richard Commey’s recent IBF World lightweight triumph over Isa Chaniev on February 2.
