Renowned pollster and Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Mr Ben Ephson has rubbished claims by the the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that they have reclaimed majority of seats in Parliament.

The NDC in a press conference last night revealed that they now have a majority of seats in parliament which they claim translates into them winning the presidency.

According to the NDC, anyone who has followed the Ghanaian election knows that winning the parliamentary elections means a win for your Presidential candidate.

The NDC claims they have won 140 seats in parliament making them the majority and that they will now appoint the speaker and also form the various committees in the law making house.

The pollster revealed in an interview with Angel FM, that the NDC's claim of winning a majority in parliament is false as in 2016 they lost 34 seats while NPP won 38 seats and if they claim to have now won 36 seats the NPP have also won 10 seats from the NDC.

“From the information available, NDC cannot be leading in Parliament unless there is other information I have no idea of”, Mr Ben Ephson said.

“It could be that there is some information the NDC has which I may be ignorant of. But the information I have shows that they lost 34 seats in 2016 and this one won 38. The NPP has taken about 10 seats of NDC, so it could be that I am not aware of the basis they are talking about, Mr. Ben Ephson said this in an interview with Angel FM.

The pollster before the December 7 General Elections predicted a win for the incumbent President Akufo-Addo with a win of 52.6% while the NDC's John Mahama was to get 45.7%
