NDC invokes curse against election rigging in Berekum West Constituency
4th December 2024
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch in the Berekum West Constituency of the Bono Region has invoked a curse on anyone attempting to manipulate the results of the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.
According to party executives, the move aims to ensure a true reflection of the election outcome in the constituency.
They specifically warned their polling station agents against succumbing to influence from other political parties to rig the election against the NDC.
One party member, Apraku Ansomana, emphasized that the NDC has put in significant effort and is confident in its chances of winning.
“We do not want anyone to rig the election in our favour or against us,” he stated.
The curse also extends to security personnel, Electoral Commission staff, and any individuals who might engage in electoral malpractices.
The party warned that anyone involved in rigging would face the wrath of the river gods invoked during the rites.
Julius Ganiu, another executive member, expressed optimism about the party’s chances.
“We have worked tirelessly over the years and believe that John Mahama will win the presidential election, and our parliamentary candidate will secure the seat for the NDC. That is why we performed these rites—to ensure that anyone who tries to tamper with the results will face divine punishment.”
