The current minority caucus of parliament of Ghana, made of 106 MPs of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would picket at the Headquarters of the Electoral Commission (EC) on Tuesday, December 22.

The march is to "express their displeasure" and to press on the EC to take a second look at its 9th December declaration, which made President Akufo-Addo as winner of the 2020 elections.

It will start from parliament to the EC office is part of the protest to press upon the Jean Mensa Commission to reverse the flawed election results that was declared for President Akufo-Addo as winner of the 2020 Presidential elections.

It comes just a day before the EC goes on 26 days break for Christmas.

Member of Parliament for South Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, who hinted of Tuesday’s march on Onua TV’s 100 Degrees on Monday, explained that the leadership of the party will not sit for the EC to take them for granted.

“we are marching to the EC office to express our displeasure against the EC. We will go to court," he said.

"The NDC will go to court but before that, these series of protests are also parts of the process."

Minority to march to EC

There has been a series of demonstration by members and supporters of NDC across the country against the outcome of the Presidential results.

The EC allegedly padded figures of the opposition candidate, John Mahama, changed six times of the declared results after it declared Nana Addo as the president-elect.

The Minority said they would not allow the EC to take them for granted, hence the decision to march to the EC office to register their displeasure against the EC.

The Minority leader, Hon Haruna Iddrissu has also hinted that the NDDC MPs would not be part of Akufo Addo swearing in ceremony on January 7, 2020.
