5th October 2018
Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has predicted that some of the aspirants in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer contest will get zero (0) votes at the party’s congress.
At least 11 people including the former president have registered their interest in contesting for the party’s flagbearership race.
They are Nadowli-Kaleo, Member of Parliament; Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, former university professor; Joshua Alabi, former Trade Minister; Ekwow Spio-Garbrah and former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA); Sylvester Mensah.
The rest are, former Deputy Finance Minister and MP for Cape Coast South, Kweku Ricketts Hagan; returnee Goosie Tanoh, businessman, Nurudeen Iddrisu, Legal practitioner, Elikplim Agbemava, self-styled electrician, Stephen Atubiga and former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly boss, Kojo Bonsu.
All these men, who are already touring parts of the country and campaigning, are hoping to pick nomination forms when the party opens nominations later in the year.
Commenting on the elections on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, Mr Pratt said he is convinced some of the aspirants will get zero votes.
“Master mark my words, you can mark on the wall, some of the asprants will get zero (0) votes…yes, they will get zero, no one will vote for them…,” he said.
According to him, he has had the opportunity of talking to some of the aspirants who he termed as a brother and he confided in him that he is expecting to get 10% votes in the race.
“And I ask him, why don’t you back down if you know you won’t win, you know one must get more than that to win…,” he said.
The unnamed aspirant, Kwesi Pratt claimed said he was preparing himself the future; so the election was only a means of preparing for the future.
