Kobby Barlon has won the Deputy National Organiser race of the NDC at the ongoing Delegates' congress at the Trade Fair Centre, La.

He beat Chief Hamilton Biney Nixon who was highly tipped to win by some 214 votes in what could be described as a close contest.

Chief Hamilton Biney Nixon got 2405 votes to place second, with Dr. Alhassan Hanfu garnering 1386 votes.

However, Kobby Barlon and Chief Hamilton Biney Nixon get elected to the position.

Mr Kobby Barlon had stated prior to the elections that his priority would be to energise the grassroots of the party when the delegates give him the mandate.

He explained that the NDC did not lose the 2016 election but gave out power to the NPP on a silver platter in what he called an "unconscious" neglect of the grassroots which led to apathy on election day.

They competed against 7 others.
