The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, Sanja Nanja has made a dramatic turn around to snatch the Atebubu Amanten seat from the grips of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).

In 2016, Sanja Nanaja lost the Parliamentary seat to the NPP's Kofi Amoakohene who now  is the Bono East Regional Minister.

Sanja Nanja won the seat with 17,588 representing 56.86% while his nearest challenger the NPP's Kofi Amoakohene getting 13,169 representing 42.53% of the total valid vote cast.

The victor Sanja Nanja has been on a collision course with the Atebubu Traditional Council of the area for insulting the Queen mother of the area on live radio.

This issue dragged on for several times prompting the Atebubu Traditional Council to place a ban on him campaigning in the constituency.

The Atebubu seat is among a number of parliamentary seats which has flipped into the hands of the opposition NDC including the Cape Coast North Seat among others.
