Paa Kwesi Nduom’s Elmina Sharks have been declared winners of Zone Two of the GN Bank Division One League and have been promoted to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) come next season.

The second tier side secured 66 points with a difference of 10 points ahead of second placed Karela, with the last round of matches in the zone yet to be played.

At a brief coronation event held after their Day 29 match against Nzema Kotoko, Sharks were awarded with a trophy, a plaque and medals for all players and technical team members for topping the zone.

Elmina Sharks will be making its first appearance in the Ghanaian top flight league where they could join Ebusua Dwarfs as the second club from the central region in the 2016/17 GPL.

According to the Division League Board, winners of Zone 1 & 3 will also receive similar awards if they confirm their leads on their respective league tables.

However in Zone 1, matches have been put on hold due to some bribery allegations whiles the competition in Zone 3 looks cagey with Great Olympics tipped to make a quick return.
