Jonathan Mensah's stint with New England Revolution has come to an end after the club declined to extend his contract for another year following the conclusion of the 2024 Major League Soccer season.
The experienced Ghanaian center-back joined New England from San Jose Earthquakes earlier in the year but faced challenges with form and consistency, making only eight appearances as the Revolution fell short of playoff qualification.
Mensah, a seasoned MLS veteran with nine years in the league, has previously made a significant impact, amassing 190 appearances, scoring seven goals, and providing three assists.
Notably, he captained Columbus Crew to the MLS Cup and Campeones Cup titles in 2020.
Despite his limited role this season, the 70-time Ghana international remains eligible to join another MLS club as he enters the next chapter of his career.
Mensah’s journey began at Ashantigold Academy before moving on to clubs in Europe, including Evian in France and Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia, prior to his successful MLS tenure.
