Indigenes of New Ningo are calling on the Ministry of Defense to advise some military personnel to stay off their lands before the unexpected happens.

The angry youth in an interview with Atinka FM explained that the military persons were brought to the area by a private developer, Richard Hlomador, believed to be a financier of one of the major political parties.

He added that the military men have since been harassing and intimidating indigenes of the area, making it impossible for even farmers to go on their farms for some time now.

According to sources, one Richard Hlomador and Grace Odaakor have connived with the New Ningo Chief to engage the uniform men in the area in a bid to forcefully take over their lands.

According to residents, the developer bragged that he has money to influence decisions if the people take any legitimate action. The indigenes say they are aware that the military are trained to fight but do not want Ghana to write another history, considering what occurred at Denkyira-Obuase recently.

They are therefore calling on the Ministry of Defence to ask the military personnel out of their land before they mass up against them.

Felix Doe who spoke on behalf of Richard Hlomador when contacted said his boss genuinely acquired the said property from the late Chief, Nene Gidiglago about 13 years ago. He also denied knowledge of any military presence as confirmed by the District Police Commander and the Chief.

The transaction was carried between Richard Hlomador and his predecessor and not him. That notwithstanding, Nene Teye Djangmah IV noted that he has tried to bring the youth and the developer to a negotiation table but the youth say they want the developer to quit their land.

In all, the Ningo-Prampram District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Issah Mohammed Cantona confirmed the military presence, saying he at a point drove them away since their presence was undermining the peace and security of the area.

The Commander added that he has also ordered the developer to stop works on the land until the issue is addressed but was surprised that they went back to continue the demolishing which incurred the wrath of the indigenes.
