There was a pandemonium in the Ashanti Region on Monday as Nigerian traders at Suame Magazine were prevented from selling their wares. 

According to a report by 3news.com, a group of unidentified men forcibly closed down about 20 shops belonging Nigerian spare parts dealers at the Same Magazine market.

Speaking to the media on the matter, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Traders Association, Chief Kizito Obiora, opined that they have been targeted because of rumor and allegations that Nigerians are involved in the recent kidnappings in Ghana.

He noted that Nigerian nationals the Ashanti Region have been under attack sine Thursday, June 13, 2019.

He disclosed they have been forced to close their shops since last Friday , June 14 and all through the weekend, and the perpetrators are demanding that they leave the country to their home Nigeria.

Chief Kizito, however, stated that “Nigerians at Suame Magazine are law-abiding”. He also who said they have reported the case to the police and expects a quick intervention from the authorities.

Meanwhile, the police bin Kumasi intervened when the unknown men attacked the Nigerians .

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has since commenced investigations into the matter.
