Former Germany head coach Joachim Löw has played down mounting speculation linking him with the vacant Black Stars job, insisting that no official contact has been made.

‎Reports had suggested the 66-year-old was close to agreeing a short-term deal to lead Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

‎However, speaking to Sky Sport, Löw firmly denied any such developments.

‎“With me, officially no one from Ghana has spoken,” he said.

‎His comments cast doubt over the likelihood of an imminent appointment, as the Ghana Football Association continues its search for a new head coach.

‎The position has been vacant since the dismissal of Otto Addo, who was relieved of his duties following a disappointing run of results, including defeat to Germany in a recent friendly.

‎Löw, one of the most decorated coaches in international football, led Germany to World Cup glory in 2014 and oversaw a successful 15-year tenure marked by consistent performances at major tournaments.

‎Although he has previously indicated a willingness to return to management under the right conditions, his latest remarks suggest Ghana have yet to formally approach him as they weigh their options ahead of the World Cup.
