“The CCG also wishes to state that, for the sake of peace, unity and national cohesion, Christians should not put-on Political Party paraphernalia to church on Sunday. We encourage Pastors to use the coming Sunday to thank God for peaceful Elections and to preach unity among the Ghanaian people.  Let us continue to pray for a united prosperous country.”, the release advised.

Additionally, the council is pleading with supporters of the winning candidate to celebrate moderately and avoid comments that can inflame violence with political opponents adding that “we also appeal to supporters of the losing candidate to accept the loss graciously.”

Before the conduct of the polls, the Christain Council called on all Ghanaians to join hands in its  ‘Say Yes to Peace’ campaign, in pursuit of violent-free elections.

The Council in its quest to promote peace during and after the elections set up a 21 member eminent person group to engage various stakeholders and players during elections to help ensure order in the country.

CELEBRATE IN MODERATION AND DO NOT WEAR POLITICAL PARTY PARAPHERNALIA TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY

We bring you greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) is concerned about mounting tensions in some parts of the country ahead of the declaration of the winner of the just-ended Presidential Elections in Ghana.

We, therefore, urge supporters of the winning candidate to celebrate moderately and avoid comments that can inflame violence with political opponents. We also appeal to supporters of the losing candidate to accept the loss graciously.

The CCG also wishes to state that, for the sake of peace, unity and national cohesion, Christians should not put-on Political Party paraphernalia to church on Sunday.

We encourage Pastors to use the coming Sunday to thank God for peaceful Elections and to preach unity among the Ghanaian people.

Let us continue to pray for a united prosperous country. The Lord bless you. Signed
