The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday organized Parliamentary primaries for constituencies where they do not have MP's often referred to as orphan constituencies.

In the Ashaiman constituency, one Alhaji Labaran Yakubu emerged as the winner among the three contestants.

Despite the NDC occupying the Ashaiman Parliamentary seat for the past 15 years and the constituency chairman, Augustine Kyeremeh believes its never true Ashaiman is an NDC stronghold.

And has sounded a note of caution to the incumbent Ernest Norgbey.

"I dont simply agree with people who say Ashaiman is an NDC dominated area"

"Politics is about how you campaign and the candidates you select it matters a lot'

"Now that we have got an experienced candidate someone who did well last four years and is coming again I believe

that he will definitely work hard and we will support him."

"So the only message I will send to Nogbe is to stand well because he is coming to meet someone who is more experienced than him" he said.
