The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) in the Northern region is demanding an unqualified apology from the ruling New Patriotic Party and also the prosecution of one of its members who attcked a female journalist.

A female journalist by name Sabina was attacked in line of her duty during Saturdays Parliamentary primaries organized for orphan constituencies.

According to reports the female journalist was covering the elections at a place called Tapco when the NPP chairman there collapsed while the election was ongoing.

She picked her phone and quickly snapped the action involving the Chairman's collapse,she was quickly approached by a man who forccibly snatched the phone from her hands and headed her on her forehead.

She was manhandled by the said gentleman resulting in her sustaining some bruises on her forehead and body.

The victim has reported the matter to the Northern Regional Police Department awaiting investigations but the Regional body for journalist has threatened to boycott the activities of the party if they do not apologize and prosecute the perpetrators.
