The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has reassured Ghanaians that the country has sufficient stocks of petroleum products and that the national fuel supply remains stable, despite concerns arising from recent developments in the global energy market.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the Authority said the national fuel supply chain is operating normally, and there is no reason for alarm.

The NPA confirmed that a comprehensive review of Ghana’s petroleum stock levels and supply arrangements was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition and key industry stakeholders. The review verified that adequate quantities of Petrol (PMS), Diesel (AGO), Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK), and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) are available to meet both current and projected demand nationwide.

According to the Authority, the government continues to implement proactive measures to safeguard supply reliability and maintain market stability. These include continuous monitoring of national stock levels and strategic coordination with International Oil Trading Companies (IOTCs), Bulk Import, Distribution and Export Companies (BIDECs), BOST Energies, and local refineries to ensure timely imports and consistent availability of petroleum products across the country.

The NPA also noted that it is strengthening strategic supply planning and price monitoring mechanisms to mitigate potential disruptions or price volatility stemming from changes in the global petroleum market.

The Authority urged the public to avoid panic buying, assuring that adequate stocks of fuel are available nationwide. It reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a reliable supply, transparent market operations, and the protection of consumer interests.
