Former Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Samuel Sarpong, has condemned the two women who recently invoked curses on the Electoral commission and its chairperson, Mrs Charlotte Osei.

On December 1, 2016 during the special voting exercise, two masked women invoked the dreaded Antoa deity on the EC, on suspicion of rigging the December elections in favour of the ruling National Democratic Congress.

The action of the two women at the Bantama office of the NPP shocked many.

Addressing members of the Santasi Seventh Day Adventist Church on Saturday, December 3, 2016, Dr Sarpong condemned the action by the women describing it as sheer ignorance.

“Are they Christians, is that how Christians behave,?” Dr Sarpong, now the chief executive officer of the State Housing Corporation asked.

Dr Sarpong who is contesting next week’s elections as a member of parliament in the Nhyiaeso constituency in the Ashanti Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, said such acts only sparks unnecessary tensions and has to be discouraged.

On peace and national cohesion, the former mayor entreated Christians to play their role in sustaining the peace and tranquillity in the country before, during and after the December polls.
