The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unveiled its campaign team for the Ayawaso East Constituency, signaling its ambition to win a seat long held by the opposition.

The launch event, which took place on Sunday at the CDR (Nima Social Center), drew a large crowd of supporters and was graced by several party dignitaries.

Among the notable attendees were Greater Accra Minister Nii Titus Glover, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso North Ibrahim Sannie, and Mr Adomako Baafi.

Zak Rahman, the NPP's Parliamentary Candidate for the December poll, addressed the gathering. "For years, Ayawaso East has been deemed impregnable for our party," Mr Rahman said. "But today, I see a genuine appetite for change."

The event brought together a diverse group of backers, including young people, elders and both long-standing and new party supporters.

Mr Rahman described this show of unity as the party's "secret weapon" in their bid to make history in the constituency.

"We are not merely launching a campaign; we are igniting a movement," he told the crowd.

The NPP's optimism in Ayawaso East marks a notable shift in the constituency's political landscape. Mr Rahman expressed confidence, stating, "For the first time, we have a real chance at winning this seat."

As Ghana approaches the December general election, political observers will be keenly watching Ayawaso East to see if the NPP can translate this enthusiasm into votes.

The launch event not only introduced the campaign team but also served as a rallying cry for NPP supporters in the area.

With five months until Ghanaians go to the polls, political activity in Ayawaso East is intensifying.

Zak Rahman has a tough task in defeating incumbent MP Mahama Naser Toure who has been at helm since 2013.
