Even ahead of its proceeding today, October 22, 2024, Parliament is already bracing itself for another round of drama.
Scores of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters have thronged to the premises of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Although it’s not immediately clear which constituencies these NPP supporters are from, they were dressed in several party paraphernalia.
Some also wore branded t-shirts with the NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s photos.
Another group held a banner with the inscription, Densu Agya NPP Movement, wearing branded t-shirts of Majority Chief Whip and Nsawam Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annoh Dompreh.
Their presence is in the wake of plans by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament to occupy the Majority side, despite a Supreme Court order that has halted the execution of Speaker Alban Bagbin’s declaration on four vacant seats.
Meanwhile, there is currently a heavy security deployment in Parliament.
