The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it will officially declare the results of its 2026 presidential primary and formally present its newly elected presidential candidate on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
According to a programme outline released by the party on Wednesday, the ceremony will take place at the NPP Headquarters in Asylum Down, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
The event will feature three main activities — the official declaration of the presidential primary results, the outdooring of the party’s flagbearer, and an address by the newly elected candidate.
The occasion will mark the party’s formal transition from its internal electoral process into full preparations for the 2028 general elections.
Several high-profile figures contested the flagbearer position, including former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, outspoken businessman and politician Kennedy Agyapong, former party General Secretary Ing. Kwabena Agyepong, Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr. Bryan Acheampong.
