The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency, Mrs Mavis Nkansah Boadu has been re-elected as the MP for the area for a second term.

The New Patriotic Party Candidate, Mavis Boadu polled 41,111 votes to beat his contenders, Lawyer Sarfo Duku Samuel, Parliamentary candidate for National Democratic Congress had 11,870 and Independent Candidate, Charles Opoku Gyamfi got 1,589.

The Returning Officer, Seth Agyei Ankoma has since declared Hon Mavis Nkansah Boadu as the MP-elect for the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency

Hon. Mavis Boadu was among the youngest Parliamentary Candidates who were elected by the New Patriotic Party in their 2016 parliamentary primaries.
