Embattled Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, was caught on camera describing the controversial Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong with some unpalatable words.

In the documentary by ace undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ expose on corruption within Ghana football, the GFA Boss is seen telling undercover reporters that Kennedy Agyapong was a loose cannon who would be a stumbling block if not roped in on the deal.

According to Mr. Nyantakyi, this was based on information from the Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways and MP for Lawra, Anthony Karbo.

“There is a man called Kennedy Agyapong. He is an MP. He is one of the biggest financiers of the NPP. He is very loud. He owns OMAN FM and NET2 TV. He is criticising the government, his own government, yes. He wants to control everything… nobody can call him to order. They will be begging him when he is insulting them…so, he [Karbo] mentioned that they wanted to make him [Kennedy Agyapong] a minister because of the contribution he made to the campaign. He says he cannot be a minister because he is not a disciplined person to be a minister. But they [the government] gave him a ministry. They created a ministry and gave it to him and he nominated somebody as the minister. Yes, Ministry of Transport. The guy who is there [at the Transport Ministry], Asiamah; that is his [Kennedy Agyapong’s] small boy,” Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

Mr. Nyantakyi who was arrested on May 22, has since been cautioned and released on bail pending investigations into a possible case of defrauding by false pretenses following a complaint to the Police CID by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Kwesi Nyantakyi is said to have been captured in the investigative piece using the President’s name, the Vice President’s name  and names of other state officials to induce potential investors to part way with some sums of money.
