Ghanaian defender Nurudeen Abdulai delivered an impressive all-round performance as Dunfermline Athletic battled to a 2-2 draw with Partick Thistle in the Scottish Championship.
The 21-year-old centre-back, who joined the club from Medeama SC last summer, started the contest and played 88 minutes at KDM Group East End Park in a match that swung dramatically from start to finish.
The visitors struck first through Logan Chalmers just 15 minutes into the game and carried a narrow lead into the interval.
But Dunfermline responded shortly after the restart, with Abdulai playing a pivotal role in the equaliser five minutes into the second half. The Ghanaian defender capped his energetic display by getting on the scoresheet, inspiring the hosts’ comeback effort.
Partick Thistle, however, were not done. Alex Samuel restored their advantage after being set up by Tony Watt, seemingly putting the visitors on course for a valuable away victory.
Yet the drama continued deep into stoppage time when Kieran Ngwenya found the net to rescue a crucial point for Dunfermline, sparking celebrations among the home supporters.
Abdulai’s commanding display further underlined his growing influence at the Scottish second-tier side. Since his move from Medeama, he has established himself as a key figure in the squad.
He has now made 16 league appearances this season, scoring once, and 19 appearances across all competitions, a testament to his consistency and importance to the team’s campaign.
