Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul-Malik Kwaku Baako, has rubbished claims in the media that suggests that 6 the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was in his pocket.

According to the veteran journalist, there was no where in the yet-to-be premiered investigative documentary of ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas on corruption at the GFA that the embattled GFA boss made that statement.

Nana Akufo-Addo reported the GFA president to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service on Tuesday, 22 May 2018, after having been privy to the Number 12 undercover documentary, which captured the FA boss clinching investor deals in the name of the president and vice-president.

There are reports that Mr Nyantakyi was captured allegedly telling investors that he had Nana Akufo-Addo in his pocket and that with $5million and $3million for the president and his vice-president, respectively, the investors would be able to do their business safely in the country and reap the results.

Reacting to the claims on News File on Accra-based Joy FM on Saturday, 26 May 2018, Mr Baako noted that Mr Nyantakyi did not say he had the president in his pocket.

He told show host Samson Lardy Anyenini that: “There is this thing that I hear that somebody said somebody is in his pocket. There is no such thing on the tape. Maybe it’s an interpretation of what somebody said, that is what is being put out that way. Categorically, there is nothing like Kwesi Nyantakyi saying the president is in his pocket, but he talks about his influence that he will gain if the monies come and how they will take over the country. I suspect it’s an interpretation somebody is making. I’m only talking of the exactitude.”
