German fourth tier club, Phoönix Lübeck have snapped up 29-year-old Ghanaian defender Bernard Kyere ahead of the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
The Ghanaian-born but German raised centre-back has joined Regionalliga Nord side FC Phönix Lübeck on a two-year contract, as the club took to the internet to confirm the signing.
The former FC Kaiserslautern U17 star is joining the German lower division outfit on a free transfer move after leaving Luxembourg top-flight side Victoria Rosport at the end of the 2024-2025 campaign.
A club's statement read: ''The FC Phönix Lübeck is signing the experienced and 88-time third league player Bernard Kyere until 2027. The 29-year-old centre-back was last active with Luxembourg's first league team Victoria Rosport and will stabilize the Eagles' defense.''
Sporting director Frank Salomon said of the signing of the hard-tackling defender via the club's official website: ''He's strong in the air and confident in tackling, and he also has good pace. With his calmness, leadership skills, and experience, 'Bernie' will ensure that we can continue to rely on a solid defense.''
Kyere played an integral role for Victoria Rosport as he featured in 31 games across all competitions for the Luxembourd outfit in the just concluded 2024-2025 campaign.
Bernard remains open to switching full allegiance to Ghana, his country of birth as he is eligible to represent the Black Stars at international level.
