Swedish giants Malmö FF have announced the contract termination of Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Sarfo after he was convicted of two cases of rape against children.

Sarfo joined last summer from IK Sirius as the club's most expensive signing after signing a five-year contract but has since dragged its image into the mud.

The 22 year old attacking midfielder will serve two-years and eight months in prison.

He has also been hit with a fine of 15,000 Swedish krowns and will be deported after serving out his sentence.

A statement on the club’s official website reads:

"On Friday, Kingsley Sarfo was sentenced to a long-term prison sentence for very serious crimes. Kingsley Sarfo is consequently dismissed with immediate effect. The actions are incompatible with the MFF's values and the behavioral requirements imposed on the association's representatives.

"Malmö FF will act against both the player and his former club to take advantage of the association's financial interests," the club continues.
