Tempers flared on Newsfile on Saturday, January 3, after a sharp exchange erupted between the Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, and the Member of Parliament for Walewale, Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, over the true incorporation date of Bawa Rock Company Limited.
What began as a routine policy discussion quickly turned confrontational as both men locked horns on live television, each disputing the other’s version of events regarding when the company was officially registered.
Mr. Gyamfi openly challenged the timeline presented by the Walewale MP, arguing that official records did not corroborate the date being cited.
According to him, the facts on file contradicted Dr. Mahama’s claims and raised serious questions about the accuracy of the narrative being pushed.
Dr. Tiah Mahama, however, stood his ground, insisting that his assertions were firmly backed by documentary evidence. He rejected Mr. Gyamfi’s position and defended his interpretation of the records, further intensifying the exchange.
As the debate grew increasingly heated, host Samson Anyenini was forced to step in repeatedly to restore order and keep the discussion on track, underscoring the level of tension generated by the disagreement.
The fiery encounter has since drawn attention from viewers, with many highlighting it as another example of how corporate records and governance issues continue to spark political controversy in Ghana’s public discourse.
