Turkish newspaper Sabah claim Swansea City forward Andre Ayew has spoken privately with Fenerbahce manager Ersun Yanal and told him he wants to stay at the club for one more year.

According to the claims, Ayew explained the reason he hasn’t performed to his best is the inconsistency of the team following a poor season.

The forward has reportedly said, as paraphrased by Sabah: “I didn’t have enough chances to show the real Ayew to Fenerbahce fans. I want you to give me a chance for one more year. I am ready to make lots of sacrifices in order to do it.”

In response to that, Yanal has reportedly told Ayew he is content with his performances but the Super Lig club’s financial situation will play a big role during the summer.

Fenerbahce have the redemption clause set at €12.5m but the cash strapped Turkish club can’t afford such fee. However, there have been claims the Championship side are prepared to reduce this in order to get the Ghana international off their wage bill

Another loan deal could be an option if they can convince Swansea City but as it stands the Welsh side are keen to sell him outright, with clubs in China and the Middle East interested.
