The family of legendary Ghanaian Highlife musician Daddy Lumba has announced that his one-week observation will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the University of Ghana (Legon) Sports Stadium.

The solemn gathering is expected to attract friends, family, fellow musicians, industry stakeholders, and fans from across the nation, all coming together to honor the memory of the celebrated icon whose music career spanned decades.

The official announcement was made by DL FM, Daddy Lumba’s own radio station, via its Facebook page, inviting the public to join in paying tribute.

Renowned for his soulful voice, electrifying stage performances, and a catalogue of timeless hits, Daddy Lumba is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most influential musicians. His pioneering contributions to the Highlife genre have inspired generations and continue to shape the country’s musical heritage.

The family has extended an open invitation to all well-wishers to attend the ceremony at the Legon Sports Stadium.
