Actor and filmmaker Prince David Osei has slammed the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway for her unguarded comments against fellow actor and NDC parliamentary aspirant for the Ayawa West Wougon constituency John Dumelo in the run up to the December 7 elections.

The Minister and outgoing Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom made comments while campaigning for the NPP candidate and eventual winner, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, to wits Parliament is for serious business and that John Dumelo an actor should not be elected.

Her comments generated a lot of uproar with many actors, actress and persons within the entertainment industry slamming her for her comments.

The forced the Minister to come out to say that she was not attacking actors and persons in the entertainment space but it was only directed to John Dumelo.

Despite campaigning for John Dumelo's main contender, Madam Lydia Seyram Alhassan and professing to be a supporter of the NPP, Prince David Osei has called on the Minister to render a public apology to the actor.


“It was just an unfortunate comment. I condemned it but as I said earlier on, people say all sorts of unpalatable stuff when they are campaigning to win power. Sometimes we regret what we had earlier said. She must openly apologize for that unfortunate comment,” he told TV3
