Murtala Mohammed, a former NDC MP for Nanton constituency has described as 'insulting' a statement issued by Pastor Mensa Otabil last week in relation to the Capital Bank saga.

The Head Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church, who was the Board Chairman of the defunct bank in a statement said, he was a non-executive member of the board and that he was not involved in decision making. Click to read

This statement has however been described by some as needless.

Speaking to the issue during a panel discussion on Radio Gold's Alhaji and Alhaji, Murtala said it doesn’t matter the position of Pas. Otabil on the board; so far as he was the Chairman, he was part of the decision makers.

"Otabil's statement insulting…you were the board chair of a bank and you were a shareholder...you come out and tell us your position was a non-executive member of the board; is that not insulting to the intelligence of Ghanaians? I wonder who gave him that advice. Those who attacked him some time ago has been vindicated,” he stated.
