Ghana’s Black Stars head coach Otto Addo was among the spectators at the Red Bull Arena in Austria on Thursday night, keeping a close eye on two of his countrymen as they went head-to-head in the UEFA Europa League.

Edmund Baidoo’s Red Bull Salzburg welcomed Jonas Adjetey’s FC Basel in a lively encounter that ended 3–1 in favour of the Austrian side.

Baidoo featured prominently for Salzburg and was withdrawn deep into stoppage time, while Adjetey completed the full 90 minutes for Basel, underlining his importance to the Swiss club despite the defeat.

Addo’s presence in the stands highlighted his continued efforts to monitor Ghanaian players across Europe as he builds towards World cup assignments with the Black Stars.

For Baidoo, the victory marked another positive step in his European campaign, while Adjetey’s assured display in defence offered encouragement even in a losing cause.

The night served as a reminder of Ghana’s growing footprint on the European stage and of a national coach keen to stay closely connected to his players abroad.
