The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to introduce a groundbreaking commemorative artefact—a 24-karat gold coin box fitted with a built-in digital screen—at a high-profile event in Kumasi later this month.
The innovative piece, known as the Otumfuo Commemorative Gold Coin Box, blends tradition with technology, featuring a one-ounce 24-karat gold coin embossed with the Asantehene’s image as its centrepiece.
The box also includes two rechargeable touchscreens: a larger display designed to telecast a documentary highlighting Otumfuo’s peace-building initiatives, and a smaller screen that showcases an animated version of the coin.

The product, which has received approval from the Bank of Ghana, will be officially unveiled at the prestigious “World Meets in Ghana” Executive Dinner Ball scheduled for April 24, 2026, at the Jubilee Hall of Manhyia Palace.
The event is part of a broader celebration recognising the Asantehene as a global symbol of peace and leadership. It is expected to attract dignitaries, business leaders, and cultural figures from across the world.
In addition to the gold coin box, several other commemorative items will be launched, including gold bars and tablets in varying weights, specially designed artwork embossed with the gold coin, and a luxury 24-karat wristwatch—all aimed at preserving and celebrating Otumfuo’s legacy.
This initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to honour the Asantehene’s contributions to peace, diplomacy, and cultural preservation both in Ghana and internationally.
His influence has been widely acknowledged, including his participation in the 69th Independence Day celebrations in South Africa earlier this year, where he received a ceremonial welcome at the Ghana High Commission in Pretoria.
