Pastor alleges President Akufo-Addo is spiritually led by a "Brown Dog"

Pastor alleges President Akufo-Addo is spiritually led by a "Brown Dog"

Pastor Emmanuel Badu Kobi has alleged that every problem faced by Ghana right now is because of one man only: Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

If it's not because of his government, then Ghana would be in a comfortable situation economically, so he claims.

To the pastor, the beginning of Ghana's problems can only be traced to Akufo-Addo's presidency.

His view is that Akufo-Addo was not supposed to be elected in the first place.

Rev Kobi emphatically claimed that he had a revelation about the then Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2016 elections, where he saw a brown dog leading him (Akufo-Addo).

And it's the brown dog that's problematic here, at least according to Rev Kobi.

His claims are that the brown dog precedes Akufo-Addo everywhere he goes. He said that the dog leaves drops of urine at every spot.

These drops are the ones which spell hardship, and thus are the primary reason why things are not going well for the majority of Ghanaians economically.

"Prior to the 2016 elections, I saw a dog leading Akufo-Addo. I then saw the sudden change in dates from 16 to 17 and the dog keeps dropping urine at every spot. This made me realised that when Akufo-Addo comes, things will become hard in Ghana because the animal is leading him," the pastor told Kofi Adoma Nwanwani in an interview on Kofi TV.

Things are hard because an animal is leading a president. Spirituality. He even goes as far as saying that people did not take his fore-warnings seriously, and some even labelled him as merely a person who hates the president.

Badu Kobi also added that he was accused by NPP supporters of embarking on a smear campaign against their flagbearer because he revealed the truth about the consequences of making him a president.

"Ghanaians didn’t understand. Some even said Mahama has given me money meanwhile I’ve never collected money from any politician. I just laughed when I heard all those allegations," he remarked.

The problem with this approach to addressing the problems of a country is that there is simply no evidence to back up such claims. And even if it were so, then how would one proffer solutions? Does governance require spirituality? Certainly not.

"Everywhere the dog urinates, there’s a problem. I got frightened when I had this revelation that’s why I kept talking about it because I know he will face difficulties too. Just look at what is happening since Nana Akufo-Addo became president. I don’t hate him. This is the truth and he’s admitted it himself that Ghana is facing hard time."

Whatever his claims are, there are other practical ways to raise red flags over the country's economy, and offer practical solutions.

Still, some may actually believe a brown dog is behind Ghana's problems.
