Swedru based Ghanaian musician, Patapaa has rendered an unqualified apology to organizers of annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Charterhouse for his accusations against them after he lost out on the most popular song of the year award.

According to the ‘One Corner’ hit maker, his rant was a result of  his uncontrolled anger.

Patapaa in an interview with Joy News accused the VGMA board of receiving 'stupid' money to award the 'song of the year' to Fancy Gadam.

He said; “They [VGMA board] have to stop those things they’ve been doing. If someone deserves an award, you have to give it to him based on his output. They don’t have to take any stupid money to give an award to an undeserving artiste,”.

Reacting to the claims, PRO of CharterHouse George Quaye said the singer should walk back his claim and apologize to Charterhouse.

Mr. Quaye said; “If Patapaa has an evidence of us taking money from any nominee, he should release else he should apologise to the board, academy and the general public for that comment"

The leader of the Pa2pa soldiers who adhered to the demand, said he spoke out of anger and wants to be forgiven.

“That very day I wasn’t myself and I regret my actions. I felt bad and I felt like going out of the hall. I need to apologise to them, I’m sorry.  I want to use this opportunity to apologise to charterhouse, I was wrong with my actions. My fans were disappointed and I acted wrongly. I didn’t speak well and I apologise to them,” a sober Patapaa said.
