U.S.-born Ghanaian striker Patrick Agyemang has been named among the top 10 jersey sellers in Major League Soccer (MLS), a testament to his growing popularity and breakout performances with Charlotte FC.
The announcement, made by MLS on Wednesday, June 19, 2025, placed Agyemang ninth on the list, joining global superstars such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Miguel Almirón, and Wilfried Zaha.
The rankings are based on official jersey sales on MLSstore.com, operated by Fanatics.
Agyemang is one of three Charlotte FC players in the top 11, alongside Zaha and Ashley Westwood, highlighting the club’s expanding fanbase and market appeal.
Since signing with Charlotte FC on February 4, 2023, Agyemang has blossomed into a key figure.
The 24-year-old striker had a standout 2024 campaign, appearing in 36 matches across all competitions, scoring a team-high 10 goals and contributing five assists.
His rise has been rapid. In his first season, he split time between the First Team and MLS NEXT Pro affiliate Crown Legacy FC, scoring 10 goals in 12 appearances for the latter.
That form earned him regular First Team opportunities, where he made his MLS debut on May 27, 2023, and scored his first top-flight goal shortly after.
Agyemang’s journey to the top is as compelling as his form. After starting his college career at Eastern Connecticut State University, where he scored 30 goals in 39 matches, he transferred to the University of Rhode Island, netting 19 goals and 12 assists in 37 appearances.
He earned multiple honors, including Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team selections and a spot on the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list.
His club success earned him his first USMNT call-up in January 2025 from head coach Mauricio Pochettino, where he made an instant impact—scoring in both friendlies against Costa Rica and Venezuela.
With his rising stature on and off the pitch, Patrick Agyemang has quickly become a fan favorite, and his inclusion among MLS’s top-selling jerseys underscores his growing status as one of the league's brightest young stars.
