Dr Otchere Addai Mensah has descended heavily on President Akufo-Addo describing his performance in government as “disappointing” and “abysmal”.

In the estimation of the Head of the Medical Laboratory Department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia have failed to live up to expectation.

“People didn’t expect these things to happen. this is not the expectation of Ghanaians, people are not happy, I am not happy. I am disappointed and I’m saying it as it is. Our expectations are from the kind of things we were told before the elections,” Dr Otchere Addai Mensah said on Angel FM in Kumasi.

The lecturer who admitted being a card bearing member of the ruling party insisted that some government’s decisions have further worsen the living conditions of the citizenry, stressing that, ” we have had enough of the rhetoric”.

“It will not augur well for the government if things continue like this. They need to fix the fuel price. They need to find ways to manage our expectations,” he added.

He however cautioned communicators of the party to refrain from attacking persons who constructively criticize the  government.

“If we don’t accept dissent as a critical part of loyalty, leadership will always hear what they want to hear because of people fear of losing their jobs or where they get their bread and butter from. But the reality will come to bare when the day of reckoning dawns.

“I always say this, they will play the Titanic when they are crying at the beauty of the opera while the ship is sinking,” Dr Otchere Addai Mensah.
