Former Black Stars striker Peter Ofori-Quaye has expressed his frustration after Ghana U20's heavy 5-0 loss to Germany.

The ex-Olympiacos forward, who famously starred in the 1998 UEFA Champions League, questioned the criteria used to select players for the junior national team.

Ofori-Quaye did not hold back in his criticism, taking to Facebook shortly after the final whistle to voice his concerns.

He pointed out a glaring issue on the team sheet, writing, "So apart from 4 players that have their club symbols shown on the team sheet, the rest don't have teams or what?"

His frustration with the lack of local-based talent was clear as he added, "You can't even select 11 players from your own local league... wow, I mean this is serious."

The Black Satellites are preparing for the 2024 WAFU Zone B U20 Championship, a qualifier for the 2025 CAF U20 Cup of Nations, which kicks off on Thursday, 17 October 2024.

Ofori-Quaye's comments reflect growing concerns about player selection ahead of the tournament.
