No fewer than 70 people, mostly firefighters, were killed after a 17-storey commercial building in Iran’s capital Tehran, was razed by fire, killing 70 people. The incident happened this morning.

The building referred to as Plasco building, was a symbol of modernity that was constructed in the early 1960s. The fire started in the early hours of today. Firefighters were called in and as they tried to extinguish the fire, the building collapsed, killing over 50 of them.

No fewer than 100 others including firefighters were injured in the incident.
